Bio: Rochelle Auran (Level 4 Math & Science Teacher)
I love to travel and explore new places and cultures. Maybe this is a result of my military upbringing, never staying in one place for long and always having the opportunity to experience new things! Growing up with a Fighter Pilot for a dad, it never occurred to me that I would have a career that I did not love. For this reason I followed my love of science to get a Master's Degree in Biology from Arizona State University and then found my niche as an Environmental Chemist which I have pursued for most of my adult life. Teaching Middle School kids is a (somewhat) new challenge for me and I am looking forward to sharing my love of Science and Math with them. Middle School is a unique and wonderful stage of life and is the perfect opportunity to further develop the ability to think logically, use reasoning skills to solve problems and continue a love of learning through genuine curiosity. It is a privilege for me to support our student's growth and help them find their trajectory in life.
Last but not least, is my husband Tom who shares my love of Science. He is an Oregon native and University of Oregon Grad. He currently works at Cleanwater Services as a laboratory specialist. His current passion is baking sourdough bread and we are all fatter and happier for it.
