We are progressing through our historical fiction books with a deeper sense of the Holocaust and World War 2 under our belts. This historical content connection with the reading is very powerful and helps students connect more deeply with the story. Please ask your student what is happening in their books right now.
7th graders have begun writing their own historical fiction on a variety of historical time periods/events. Emulating writing in this way can help students use what they know about a genre more effectively and focus on the writing details.
8th graders and 7th grade Challenge Course will begin writing their essay this week. It is an important opportunity for the students to practice using the tools they have learned this year.
