Social Studies:
This week we finish up Reconstruction with a Literacy Test from Louisiana. It is not an easy test, but it will help students better understand the challenges freed African Americans faced in the South.
Students will also begin their Spring Research project, Research a Bill. They will research a bill that is currently being debated in the Oregon Legislature. Students will write a persuasive letter to a sitting Senator or Representative asking them to support or not support a current bill. The goal is learning how to write a persuasive letter and will help students to learn more about current legislation that might affect them in the future.
