Your students made me very proud during our Land Acknowledgement presentation with Eva Guggemos! They were wonderful scholars and citizens of our community.
This week we begin reading and preparing for our first class discussion on what it means to be a global citizen. Students will read short stories and ask thoughtful questions in preparation for our conversation. In addition, we will complete our first vocabulary journal and grammar packet. These will become their primary homework from Language Arts in the weeks ahead.

As we continue our focus on Oceania and Antarctica, students are learning more about how the land affects how we live in these spaces. Students will draw a map of three different island types and then share these maps with each other to complete their notes for the lesson. Then we will dig into Antarctica and better understand what life is like on ice.
