Reading is well under way and students are beginning to understand the difficult experiences of people involved in the Holocaust. This week we will pull evidence that supports the students’ argument that their book is historically accurate. This will prepare 7th graders to write their own historical fiction and 8th graders to prepare their thesis statement for the essay.
Every student now has a Genocide/Civil War research project assignment. Step 1: Choosing a topic is due on November 6th. Please check in with your student to see what topic might be of interest.

Students began working on World War I through an investigation of imperialism and the alliances between European nations. As we end the week, students will begin to transition to the beginning of World War II.
