Students have begun our Historical Fiction unit and chose to read one of the following books:
Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry
To Kill a Mockingbird
Midnight Without a Moon
The Red Badge of Courage
Sophia’s War
Code Talker
The Soldier’s Secret
Please ask your student to see what they are reading. 7th graders will write a historical fiction of their own and 8th graders will focus on the historical accuracy for their next essay.
Students will complete the editing portion of the Podcast project. We will share all of the podcasts (some still in progress) on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 5-6:30pm and some portions at ASM on March 1st.
We will submit these podcasts as part of the NPR Student Podcast Challenge. You can learn more about it here: https://www.npr.org/2018/11/15/650500116/npr-student-podcast-challenge-home?fbclid=IwAR25iJARDc8FbVWpKWU2Drw0TXzqZXnzD7Q_6JD2c0SbXYv1sP-lY6tMxFY
