Vignettes and Essays are due Friday, November 16!
7th grade students received a creative writing, realistic fiction vignette writing assignment last Wednesday. We discussed short story plot writing and learned to write on a deadline. Students will have 2 weeks to complete a “very” short story. It must be a realistic fiction and develop a character completely.
7th grade Challenge Course and 8th grade students received their first essay prompt of the year. This writing piece will ask the students to analyze their main character’s growth throughout the story. 8th grade Challenge Course will write their essay on The Great Gatsby.

Social Studies:
Students have now chosen their Research Paper topic and are beginning the process of collecting research notes. Tuesday we looked at different strategies for note collection and tracking citations. The citations will be due December 12th and the 1st draft of the research paper will be due December 19th.
This week will complete the Bill of Rights chapter and have a quiz on Friday.
